So, it is the New Year! The time of cliché statements and new motivation for everything! The season of being thankful for what you have has come and gone. Now, we’ll start thinking, eating, doing, buying, selling, and promoting all the things we want to change or improve in our lives, only to disappoint ourselves in a few weeks. Granted, some will pull through and accomplish their goals, but for the most part it will end in us being disappointed that we didn’t meet our high expectations that we've put on ourselves!
I'd written a blog before this one, unpublished due to the chaos of life. It had goals on the blog. lthough I think it is great to use the New Year to spark up new motivation, I want to learn how to cultivate the motivation all year long! Many little goals will be accomplished and by the end of the year instead of disappointment, there is going to be excitement and surprise as to how much I have grown, done, and learned!
So, goal number one is to cultivate a routine of playing with Noah with my undivided attention! I have learned that I need to be intentional, or I will look back over my day and realize I gave him divided attention all throughout the day, and he deserves better! It doesn’t matter that I don’t know how to play cars and planes, but the joy sparked in his eyes as I run back and forth hundreds of times through the house making horrible imitations of plane noises, helps me to feel accomplished, needed, and loved! I can do that everyday! The end of the year… NO REGRETS, maybe even an improved imitation of plane noises!
Just for fun here are some pictures of our holidays with the family!
